GrillMarx (10175 Little Patuxent Parkway) soft-opened this weekend at the Lakefront in Columbia. The opening of the long-anticipated steakhouse & raw bar was delayed due to the pandemic but the new Downtown restaurant is now officially open to the public. They held a family and friends event on Friday and their first day of public service was Friday October 10.
Operating somewhere between casual and upscale, the restaurant features a variety of freshly cut steaks, seafood, raw bar offerings, salads, burgers and more in a large open industrial space.
Over the coming weeks, they will work to perfect their operation with in-person service only and minimal marketing. In a few weeks, they plan to do a grand opening and will then roll out weekend brunch, happy hour, and to-go service (including online ordering and curbside pickup with dedicated parking spots on Wincopin Circle).
GrillMarx is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner though they are taking the day off today (October 12) as they regroup from their first weekend of business. I stopped in to the restaurant just as they opened on Sunday to check out the space, snap some photos and chat with the manager. Since I only stopped in a few minutes as they were just opening, I didn't get a chance to see or try any of their food for myself, but I certainly will look forward to eating there sometime soon. They are very excited to bring their restaurant - which has existing locations in Olney and Clarksburg) - to our community.
